Resurfacing

I feel like I'm just coming up out of deep water, it's been so long since I've even thought about blogging.

Recent happenings at our house:

  • We spent a week in Denver with my dad, and boy howdy did we eat some good food. Did you know that someone has thought to create an all-you-can-eat Italian buffet - complete with a bakery and crepe bar, not to mention really fabulous food - and that it may quite possibly be the most dangerous place on planet earth?
  • My husband graduated with his bachelor's degree last week. There is something so adorable about a picture of a college grad, decked out in wrinkled robe and square hat, holding a grinning baby (and standing next to one of our good friends at that!):

You'd never know that less than 24 hours before this shot was taken, it was snowing like MAD. Such is April.

  • Greek Easter. I don't have any pictures, but suffice it to say that there was, as usual, a lamb roasting on a spit, a bucket of heads (Matt saw this part, I didn't, but he claims my dad was poking around in there and eating...stuff out of it. Eyeballs? Lamb brains?), and plenty of obscure relatives. Our baby was quite the hit as one of the few 'white boys' who showed up.
  • The Big Black Angus Cleanout. My dad bought all the 'guts' out of a couple of out-of-business Black Angus restaurants in the area and has been stripping them bare - with help from grandkids, sons-in-law, brothers, friends, enemies - for the last couple of days. If anyone needs a 50-gallon capacity bread mixer, he's your guy.
So there you have it, in case you thought we had gone missing. We've just been under water.

Todd and I watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" again a while ago, and A) we were struck by how much Tula makes us think of you, and B) Todd had a hard time believing me when I told him your family really does roast lambs on a spit in the yard for special occasions. I'm going to have to show this post to him as proof when he gets home from work!

I don't think I have ever been happier to be anywhere but Utah.

I mean...glad Dad had you to help him out.

Yeah, that's what I meant.
