So I hear people complaining about a lot of things these days (not the least of which is the health care law - did we all hear Nancy Pelosi say "we have to pass the bill so we can see what's in it!"?? *choke*GAG*), but I rarely hear anyone talking about gas prices anymore. Except me. Remember when we were all in a dither about gas at $2 a gallon? And then we thought we had seen the worst when it topped $3? And how we ACTUALLY STARTED DRIVING LESS once it rocketed to $4? And those glorious few moments when it dropped down to a buck fifty?
When I passed my local gas station two weeks ago, gas was $2.67 a gallon. Last week it was $2.79. This week, $2.89. Frankly, I'm starting to panic, and I'm beginning to wonder if health care is just a magician's diversion to keep me from noticing when I have to literally start lighting hundred-dollar bills on fire to keep my car running. Anyone? Anyone?

Yesterday I was taking a much-needed morning nap when Truman came in (as he does every four minutes when I am trying to nap) and announced "My hands are all sticky." The child was covered head-to-toe in sugar. Crystallized to his pants and hands and face by saliva, forming a glistening goatee. The picture doesn't do it justice. And he was SO pleased with himself, because all he ever wants is to eat sugar straight out of the bucket. A dream fulfilled.

And just because they are adorable (and I so rarely post pictures), my BYU boys. Even if the Cougs did lose...

Could Caleb be any cuter? I don't think so.
Cute boys
What is it about eating kids eating straight sugar? Seth loves eating straight honey too.
I love the pictures. Very cute.
Adorable!!! And I think you are on to something with gas prices!!
oh.my.goodness.
Those little sugar-eaters (ok, just the one) are so cute! You must be a proud momma :)
Hope you're well!
holy crap caleb is so dang cute!
A very long time ago I decided to simply adjust my thinking when it came to gas prices....I decided anything under $3 was super...$3-$4 was expected and over $4 was upsetting. I'll tell you it has saved me a lot of time I could have been fretting over gas!!
Also....Truman sounds like my kind of kid!! Cami and I used to eat spoonfulls of brown sugar. :)
Oh fercryinoutloud, look at your cute boys!
I haven't seen Caleb for a while. He is so cute.
I thought the same thing about gas prices the other day. I can't say it has deterred me in driving yet, though.
I remember taking a much needed nap when Steven was about 2 1/2. I woke up and found he had climbed up on the counter and taken down his easter basket. He had eaten all the chocolate and was eating some jelly beans and spitting out others.
I agree about the gas prices, but they haven't gotten back to what they were, so... It's blatant complacency. Anyway, I remember when Clark was 18 months, he dumped 1/3 of a 5 gal. bucket of flour in our kitchen/living room. And he did it all - literally - behind my back! Thankfully, it was all DRY flour!
oh my goodness - your boys are SO BEAUTIFUL! I wish that I were not so terrible at keeping in touch.. seriously, could it get any easier than reading your blog? But I'm so thrilled to come back and see these wonderful updates on your beautiful life and family.
I moved back to CO (yay!), so if you are ever home for a visit and have free time for tea, I'd love to see you again, friend :)
